The aims and duties of Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe are defined in the statute. The purpose of the society lies, as set down in paragraph 2 of the statute, in the global promotion of the possibility of treatment for patients with cleft lip and palate and their integration into society as well as the conducting of comprehensive and ongoing information and education campaigns in order to create a necessary public awareness for the condition.

The statute was last changed by resolution of the general assembly on June 21, 2010. The record of this changed statute was submitted to the register of associations on September 21, 2010.
